Sharks

I didn't sleep too well last night. I've been having a flu coming, and last night I went to bed at 9pm, but I was still awake at 3am.

It's like going into the ocean full of sharks without the cage. You've been to the ocean previously, and that time you were in the cage and there were people taking care of you. Now you're standing on the edge of the boat, in the open sea, and you're staring down where it looks peaceful. The sun rays are twinkling like thousands of stars from the ocean surface. Beneath it you can imagine hell. It's like the other side of the mirror when you're looking at yourself and suddenly your image does something you're not doing, but when you wait for it to do it again, the image is just you. It's always you. This time it's you alone.

The last time there was a safety net. There were people who did the paperwork for you. People who told you what to do, where to go, how much to pay for this and that. This time you'll be there alone and no one will help you.

Maybe someone will help you, but just because they think you're a pathetic outsider, and maybe they get paid for helping pathetic outsiders like you. Or maybe they like you. Or maybe they'll pretend to like you and the moment you can't see they make a move just like your mirror image does, and you find yourself in the outskirts of the city with your wallet gone.

You'll be alone, did I tell you that?

You say you're not afraid. Of course you're not. You're the brave hero. But you know, there are thousands of anti-heros out there. Thousands of people who intentionally or accidentally aim to make your life a living hell.

Are you sure you want to go?

The sharks are waiting.
